Wonderful Launch For ‘Spark In The Dark’

On the Flower Full Moon (14 May) 2014 Thin Man Press hosted a launch for John Constable’s new collection of verse and dramatic prose-poems, Spark In The Dark, at 18th century Vitners, the Boot & Flogger, which is situated opposite the ancient Cross Bones (Prostitutes’) Graveyard in Southwark.

We were very privileged to have in our midst the great Nell Dunn, who wrote Up The Junction  and Poor Cow among other pieces of great excellence. Nell read us a short story – which will shortly be on YouTube – and then read John Constable’s Our Lady Mary Ovarie.

Niall McDevitt performed one of his own poems and then one of Thin Man’s favourite Constable poems – The Tory Leadership Crisis.

The audience – which included poet Michelle Roberts, performance artists Marcia Farquhar, two Pogues & Tymon Dogg –  was very appreciative and a good time was had by all.
